The Collectivity Salon Series

A Space for Thoughtful Conversation and Meaningful Connections

Leaders today face growing challenges—from policy rollbacks and funding shifts to polarization and systemic barriers. The series fosters reflection, strategy, and action—offering insights, connections, and tools to navigate change, advocate for impact, and build resilient networks.

What does it mean to belong?

This year, we are turning our focus to Belonging: Inclusion, Connection, Recognition, and Agency, drawn from the Othering & Belonging Institute’s Resource Guide for Belonging-Builders. In the current political environment, where polarization and “othering” are heightened, centering belonging reframes the conversation toward inclusion, shared humanity, and collective agency rather than fear.

We’re excited to share something new this summer — a new partnership and a new setting for our Salon Series

June 30th 2026 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. We’ll be joined by Becca Seidel, Deputy Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota, and Nhat Ha Tran, Program Manager at Minnesota Alliance with Youth.

What Happens at a Salon?

  1. Participants gather and introduce themselves, welcoming themselves to snacks

  2. A Collectivity team member as well as a community partner(s) kick off the conversation topic

  3. The group discusses! Everyone is welcome to speak or listen

  4. After 90 minutes are up the group is welcome to mingle and continue chatting to new friends!
